The North Face Gore-Tex Circadian Paclite was the first thing I bought at the store. Best buy ever! 100% waterproof. So light weight, so comfortable, so breathable. Also, it looks great. I use it in the city as much as on a mountain. A must-buy.

The Story So far,
They may be the newest player in the outdoor arena, but The Adventure Megastore is backed by serious experience. The family owned and run outdoor retail specialists are developing on three generations of experience in the industry, aiming to be the best independent retailer in the country.
From the state of the art elevator traveling through the five show floors through to the unique ice room which simulates the elements so that shoppers can test out cold weather gear before they buy, everything about the store has been designed with a mind to providing the most pleasurable experience for the customer.
Based at the heart of Sydney’s outdoor and adventure shopping district, at 505 Kent Street, The Adventure Megastore offers their value and expertise. The flagship concept store, the only independent retailer of its kind in the street, showcases the fruits of two year’s direct development built on decades of experience and passion.
Father and son team Hilton and Anthony Olovitz open The Adventure Megastore with more than 35 years of personal experience in the camping, outdoor equipment, travel and adventure industry. Having watched the development of the industry over the decades has brought not only invaluable specialist knowledge, but also a strong commitment to the core values on which Adventure Megastore is based. Those of customer service, quality product range, fair prices and independence.
In the late 1960s a young Hilton Olovitz was introduced to the camping and disposal store industry by his father in law Al Goldberg, a Brisbane based importer, wholesaler and retailer. In 1971 Hilton opened his first store, Junction Disposals, in Bondi Junction and fast became known for his incredible range. His son, Anthony, grew up working in the stores after school and in his holidays, taking advantage of his dad’s shop to kit himself up for extensive backpacking trips around the world throughout his uni holidays.
After opening a third store, Hilton consolidated the business to move to what had become Sydney’s outdoor and adventure shopping hub, Kent Street, and open a re-branded “Camp for Less” store in 1994. Again, Hilton began to develop a cult following among those who knew they could trust his integrity for true value, no matter what they were looking for. During this time, Anthony graduated from university and became a business consultant, working with international corporations. Becoming disillusioned with the world of big business, Anthony moved to Australian Business Limited, an advocate for small businesses, where he developed his passion and philosophy for small business.
Having always had a mind to join the family business in which he had gained his first work experience, Anthony jumped at the opportunity to move into the role when the manager of Camp for Less went traveling overseas. In 2004 he and his father decided it was time to take things to an exciting new level, closing doors on their old premises and commencing developments for The Adventure Megastore.
